Australian History
There are 11 members registered for this group but numbers vary from week to week for various reasons. Many have been in this group for 9 years. It is an informal (and often hysterical) gathering of like minded people happy to share memories and information of what is discussed for that day.
This term we are looking at a reprint of “1864 Cooking & Home Economics” and research on the years spanning1860-65 which has been compiled by me. This relates to the happenings of that era as a background and an adjunct to the Burke & Wills Expedition from the start to their funeral parade, other aspects and trivia of that time, types of housing, what Melbourne looked like, fashion trends and how all this fits in with the cookbook! All members attend regularly and are most reliable participants. Relevant class notes are printed and supplied to each member.
